AOK Sunflower Connections Event in Wamego!
/The North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging (NC-FH AAA) invites older Kansans and caregivers to the Answers for Older Kansans (AOK) Sunflower Connections in Wamego. This event that highlights practical information and includes fun for seniors and caregivers is planned for Thursday, September 30 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Wamego in conjunction with the community’s Senior Resource Fair.
“COVID-19 has popped our plans for our popular annual Sunflower Fair—so this event is a way for people in this part of Kansas to get trustworthy and practical information on topics important to anyone who is going to celebrate more birthdays,” said Julie Govert Walter, Executive Director of the NC-FH AAA. She added that experts will cover “Managing Your Legal Problems When Your Money Runs Out,” “Positive Aging! Positive Attitude!” and “How to Talk to Your Doctor About Memory Issues.”
Walter said that the event features expert speakers, prizes, entertainment and lunch. For the safety of participants, each event is limited to 50 people. The Pottawatomie Health Department will be available to provide flu shots and COVID-19 vaccines from 9:30-12:30.
Registration costs $10 per person and includes a catered lunch. Registration costs need to be paid in advance.
