September 10th: Durable Powers of Attorney
/The North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging is happy to work with Kansas Legal Services to provide another pair of seminars on Durable Powers of Attorney on September 10th.
Paul Shipp is the Managing Attorney with Flint Hills Legal Services who has 20 years of experience in elder law. Paul will be presenting two seminars providing trustworthy information on Durable Powers of Attorney (DPOAs) and Living Wills. The first seminar “Choosing Someone to Help You” explains Living Wills and DPOAs for those who are interested in naming a DPOA. The second seminar “The Person Chosen” is for family and friends who have been named as DPOAs and want a better understanding of their responsibilities and how to carry them out. Seniors and their DPOA caregivers are encouraged to attend both sessions together. Additionally, Paul will be available for 30 minute individual consultations following the seminars. Registration for these consultations will be made available for attendees prior to the seminars. Information packets created by Kansas Legal Services specifically for this initiative will be available to each participant who registers.
The Living Will and DPOA (Choosing Someone to Help You) will be available via Zoom on Thursday, September 10th at 10:00 am.
The Responsibilities of the DPOA (The Person Chosen) will be available via Zoom on Thursday, September 10th at 2:00 pm.
